Marvel Legends Taking A Breather Until SDCC

Marvel Legends Taking A Breather Until SDCC

Jay Cochran - June 30, 2023
Hasbro's Dan Yun today posted on social media suggesting that Marvel Legends as far as reveals would be taking a bit of a breather until SDCC which takes place this year July 19 - 23.

That doesn't mean we won't get any more new Marvel Legends news until SDCC as I would image they will be announcing this years exclusive at some point before the convention.

I like that there's usually something on the third week of July every year, some sort of con usually falls around then. Makes me feel like Hasbro is giving me a little birthday present lol.

They will have Con exclusives. But for PulseCon like the last couple years. I prefer that. Go on Pulse. Order. Done. I havent missed out on a Con exclusive since they started doing that.

Ah.. then here's hoping my Pulse Premium comes in handy

All I really want to see is more X-MEN! I really want a classic Banshee, an Armoured Psylocke,a decent Lilandra, Raza, Hephzibah and Leland from the Hellfire Club. Everything else is just gravy at this point. I wouldn't mind more Marauders and Imperial Guard.

I really like the rumored Knights wave .

Hasbro has already said there won't be any SDCC exclusive Marvel Legends correct?

Between the Avengers 60th stuff and a possible Avengers related HasLab the last thing I need is to chase down con exclusives.

.......I still would, just don't want to

Rektangular leaked the Knights wave? Where?

I agree with everything you mentioned though, I'd say the reveals and preorders for most if those remaining waves will go up, maybe not NWH since that was slated for December though.

Boog brings it up at the linked time stamp. If true I'm very happy to finally be getting Lady Bullseye!

He hasn't yet but there is a listing from acba. I have it up on my site if you want to see it but know its a rumor. Also don't post them here until jayc can verify them for us.

This isn't terribly surprising and I'd actually been worried that they hadn't been holding enough back for SDCC. I'm not as certain that there will actually be a SDCC exclusive this year, though. I did think that there was some possibility that they would announce the HasLab prior to SDCC though so that they could show a prototype there to get people excited -- but I also understand wanting to wait until the GI Joe Classified one is over.

We've gotten so much news lately, both officially and unofficially that a break for a few weeks is likely welcome. Just this morning I received the entire Totally Awesome Hulk / Marvels wave, Hawkeye/Sky Cycle and Chasm from BBTS! I believe that the new Mark I Iron Man and Hulk/Banner shipped from them also but I didn't personally have those ordered. I figure that other anniversary figures and the rest of the retro Spidey wave are likely to be shipped before SDCC gets here also.

There have also been so many leaked reveals over the last couple of weeks with the Disney+ Wave 5 images, the Marvel Knights wave figures being identified by Rektangular, and all of the stuff for 2024 that was leaked by Displaying Model Behavior.

At SDCC, I'm expecting that they'll finally show us the Disney+, Best of MCU, X-Men '97 animated and No Way Home waves that we've known have been coming for quite some time. I also expect that they'll show the rest of the comic Marvel Knights wave. They've already shown us Luke Cage. As someone who doesn't really care about MCU figures all that much, it's that Marvel Knights wave that I'm most hopeful of seeing for SDCC. I think that they're the only comic based figures that are likely to get shown for the first time as it will be mostly movie/tv stuff this time (which is slightly ironic with the writers' strike ongoing and actor strike likely to start soon).

There has been a crap ton of news lately for this line! For those of us that collect other lines as well, there has seemed to be just as much news for many other lines also. It's a wonderful (but expensive!) time to be a collector!

Not surprising they are taking a break if they didn't, there wouldn't be anything to reveal at SDCC
