Marvel Select The Watcher Reissue And Apocalypse Updates

Jay Cochran - May 17, 2022
While Diamond Select Toys just revealed a new Marvel Select Red Hulk figure earlier today that will go up for pre-order this Friday, many folks are wondering when they will start shipping out the Marvel Select Re-issue The Watcher that originally went up for pre-order in April 2021 as well as when they will open up pre-orders for the Marvel Select Apocalypse figure they showed concept art for back in back in October 2021.

Well Zach Oat from Diamond Select Toys addressed those two questions the comments of the Red Hulk video reveal. According to him Watcher is on the way after some behind-the-scene hold-ups and Apocalypse should likely go up for pre-order in July.

Is everywhere already sold out their pre-orders? I can't seem to find any.

Yeah and it seems not only they are sold out but Diamond Select also canceled tons of pre-orders.

I pre-ordered the new Watcher but I don't need him anymore. Does anyone want him when he arrives? You just pay cost plus shipping.

Let me know

If I can snag a Watcher this time around, I will. I was pretty pissed that my pre-order was cancelled last time. Although, I gotta say, the What If BAF Watcher kinda scratched the itch I was having to own a Watcher figure. He's pretty cool. I think his costume is actually a better design than the classic version, and he blends in perfectly with my comic-based figures. If I can get the reissue, I will, but it's not as urgent now that I own the BAF version.

I really hope they make enough of Watchers, we could really use it. Again it's sad that for all these years Hasbro never did watcher until MCU forced them to. I'm really excited for Apocalypse, if it's somewhat on the level of their newer Thanos it's gonna be really good figure.

Translated for the Watcher, Marvel/Disney were making the What If ...? series and they seem to have a mandate that companies shouldn't (not can't) make a comic version to avoid confusion for collectors. Hasbro confirmed this themselves when they revealed the Iron man wave.

That's the dumbest thing on Disney's part. Collectors are so dumb, we would get confused. They can put out 20 different Iron Men every year, though. If they insist on doing that, then go ahead and put out a red Daredevil before they start a new show or movie. Go ahead and do a comic Drax before GotG3.

There is rumors of another Apocalypse coming in the 20th line, though that may be an animated version.

Alright yeah I thought that was a rumour, hmm, and you may be right about it being an Animated version, if that's the case I'll take DST, because those images look perfecto.

I really want to see what this Apocalypse is going to look like, if it's as good as most of the DST stuff in the last two years I think I'm going to have to get that as a Classic Apocalypse, plus it will be cheaper than an ML, which isn't it rumoured we are getting some new Deluxe Apocalypse? this year I forget.

Well I'm very pleased with the Select Titanium Man. No longer need to wait till the 12th of Never, or deal with something Legends will try to call "deluxe", while doubling the price and botching it in some way. Or, making it a BAF that'll require buying a bunch of figures I don't even like. So I find myself watching the Watcher....
