2023 Should Be A Good Year For Marvel Legends X-Men Fans

Jay Cochran - October 24, 2022
Next year will be the X-Men's 60th Anniversary and of course Hasbro plans to celebrate the milestone event by releasing a good number of X-Men related Marvel Legends products.

Last month we shared with you rumored listings for some of Hasbro's 2023 Marvel Legends offerings, some of which Hasbro has already started to officially reveal. Today we just wanted to recap for you the X-Men stuff rumored as well as some now confirmed for 2023.

Marvel Legends X-Men Retro Cardback Wave
- Longshot
- Classic Multiple Man
- Wolverine In Yellow And Blue X-Men Uniform
- Avalanche
- Dark Phoenix
- Spiral

These are available for pre-order now at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth.

There is a least one X-Men themed wave of Marvel Legends coming in early 2023 which will have 7 figures and a Build-A-Figure. No word yer on the BAF.

Marvel Legends X-Men Wave
- Astonishing Cyclops
- Astonishing Emma
- Corsair
- Kid Omega
- Monet
- Chamber
- Fang
- BAF Unknown

There will be a wave of figures based on the new Disney+ X-Men97 Animated Series. Whether these will just be some kind of re-issues or completely new figures is unknown.

Marvel Legends Disney+ X-Men 97 Animated Wave
- Wolverine
- Rogue
- Storm
- Gambit
- Magneto
- Bishop

Then specifically to celebrate the X-Men 60th Anniversary we will be getting the following:

Marvel Legends X-Men 5-pack
- Stryfe
- Vertigo
- Reaver Pretty Boy
- Random
- Zero

While Hasbro has yet to officially tell us how they will be released, they have confirmed Stryfe and Reaver Pretty Boy figures are coming next year.

Marvel Legends Fan Channel Exclusive
- Marvel Legends X-Men Rogue

This will likely be based on Rogue's green and black costume she wore in the comics for much of the late 80's and early 90's before switching to her Jim Lee inspired outfit. Specifically the figure is said to be based on the one she wore during the time the X-Men made their based of operations in the Australian Outback.

Marvel Legends X-Men Blue And Yellow 3-Pack #1
- Forge
- Jubilee
- Storm

Marvel Legends X-Men Blue And Yellow 3-Pack #2
- Banshee
- Gambit
- Psylocke

These are based on the Jim Lee cover where all the X-Men for a short time wore the standardized original X-Men blue and yellow uniforms. You will want to get the Wolverine in the Retro wave listed above to go along with these if you choose to buy them. While again Hasbro has not confirmed how they will be released, they did confirm the Banshee and Storm figures are coming in 2023. Banshee will come with a screaming head and normal head. I am sure Hasbro will eventually repaint this Banshee to give him his more traditional green and yellow look.

Marvel Legends X-Men Deluxe
- The Blob

While Hasbro has yet to officially confirm The Blob figure, an image of it leaked out yesterday via social media. I'm sure Hasbro will be officially revealing it soon.

There will likely be even more X-Men related Marvel Legends products coming in 2023, but for now we will have to just wait and see what is to come.

Hoping we see some stuff for Quantumania but not getting my hopes up.

We might see the comic figures from the wave

I hope the rumored Hyperion is from Hickmans New Avengers.

At least we haven't gotten reveal listing for 2024 unlike Transformers

I certainly wouldn't say No to a Savage Land Rogue but considering the rumoured Fan Channel Outback Rogue I think the likelihood of getting two different Rogues in one year is unlikely. Unfortunately.

You dont believe that Target and Walmart are only getting one exclusive each next year, though, right? Or that Walgreens and Amazon will get none? There are a lot of possibilities here. Among them, Rektangular added some speculation to the list, he consolidated info from a second source, he got some information wrong, etc. Its true that the annual anniversary line seems always to feature exactly ten offerings, and two to three of them are usually exclusives, so its possible his list had eight, but then he got info about the two exclusives separately, or that he combined the eight-figure list with another rumour he had heard to make some educated guesses.

His track record over the last few years is sloppy as hell. He got lucky this year and got the annual distributor preorder dump before anyone else, but his record shows that he will discuss unvetted rumours just as readily as more reliable ones. The list is clearly based on good info, and I expect most (if not all) of it to be true, but that doesnt mean its 100% based on that info, and it certainly doesnt mean its 100% comprehensive. In years past, there have even been entire waves that didnt appear on the distributor preorder list (like the Thor BAF wave), that ended up just popping up out of nowhere. His list already didnt account for Ronan or the X-Men retro wave (the latter of which appeared on the previous years list, which would explain his not having it).

Ah I see what youre saying now. I dont believe the list contains all of whats in store for 2023, nor do I think those 2 are the only exclusives. I just thought you were saying that the leaked list didnt have any exclusives on it, thats all. I dont follow or know anything about rektangular other than what gets shared here at marvelous so I appreciate the insight.

Rektangular's leaks for 2023 have been spot on so far, so I don't expect to see anything that wasn't on that list, at least during the first half of the year. He was right about the Moon Knight re-issue, the Avengers comic wave , the Stryfe 5-pack, Blob deluxe and the X-Men 3-packs all before they were announced. He hasn't had any misses yet. If that holds true then the things expected to be released during the first half of 2023 that we've haven't seen any indication of yet are the GOTG movie wave + Groot/Rocket deluxe, Into the Spiderverse movie wave + Cyborg Spider-Woman deluxe, gamerverse Spider-Man (Parker) fan channel figure, Outback Rogue fan channel figure, Franklin/Valeria 2-pack and the comic X-Men wave featuring Astonishing Cyclops and Emma (and Corsair, Kid Omega, Monet Chamber and Fang!), Ant-Man movie wave, Marvels movie wave and the next Disney+ wave with Kingpin, Agatha etc. Now it's always possible that Hasbro tries to sneak something else in there that wasn't already leaked, but I'd expect it likely have to be during the second half of the year. The leaked Spider-Man comic wave, Hyperion/DrSpectrum 2pack or the X-Men '97 wave all could possibly hit earlier than the August/September projected dates too I guess. Regardless it's going to be an expensive year for me!

Its likely that the list is missing retailer exclusives. For instance (and I may be misremembering), I dont think Ronan was on the list. The list was more-or-less directly pulled from Hasbros preorder solicitations for wholesale distributors, so it wouldnt have Walmart/Target/Amazon/Walgreens/GameStop exclusives, since those products arent offered to distributors.
