Got the set today and yes despite the price (I still blame sony for that) this set is frigging awesome.
The price was a tough pill to swallow. I love the set but can't see their justification on the end price.
Admittedly I pre-ordered as soon as I able because the Tobey figure hit all the right nostalgia feels. But the longer we waited to get these in hand the longer the missing unmasked heads bugged me.
Hasbro didn't include them because reasons but that decision made the set go from one of the greatest ever to very nice. Especially if unmasked heads are included later on, there is literally no reason to not include them.
Bah it is what it is. There was a time when everything MCU I bought two of. But baffling decisions like this, as well as cost, windowless packaging etc has made me cut back significantly.
All this being said, the Tobey and Andrew versions are amazing figures. The Tom one is improved due to the paint apps. Too bad they didn't sneak his final tech-less suit from the end into this set.
Right away I'm not getting this set so maybe who cares what I have to say. I basically have 3 issues with this thing. First the price. As many have pointed out it breaks down to about $30 a piece and with minimal accessories. And they are overall smaller figures. Second is the very deliberate omission of maskless head sculpts. I know a lot of people said there's probably some hold up as far as licenses and likeness trademarks and I guess that could probably be true but okay how about you come see me when you get all that lined out? At least then you might be able to justify the price to me. Lastly is the articulation. I like the articulation of the new Toby and Andrew Spidey's with the drop hip pins and the added ab crunch but why did Tom get the short end of the stick? Well he's basically just a reuse with admittedly better paint aps. I'm sure he'll get another figure in the future and they'll probably give him that extra articulation but they're wanting my $30 for this figure now. No thank you. I get it. Cost of plastic. Cost for new molds. Cost of paint and on and on. That's industry problems. Everyone has to stay competitive but you're just going to have to compete a little better for my money. This to me is basically an unfinished product.
Thanks GH for helping to make my decisions to pass on this thing a lot more comfortable to live with.
