The Saga of Crystar Marvel Legends Marvel's Crystar (Marvel's The Void Build-A-Figure) Video Review And Images

Crystar falls into one of my collecting quirks; I don't think I've ever stuck my nose into a Crystar comic itself, but I dig a lot of characters that appeared in ADS, or on covers.Hence, Tarantula facing off against Spidey, from a ad by John Romita sr., or Captain Mar-Vell in a Hostess Fruit Pies one-page ad.Yeah, quirky.But Crystar had a great cover to Marvel Age #1--that caught and still holds my eye.

Yeah this comic was a bit before my time and in all actuality I never even knew it existed. I did try to go back and look at some back issues here recently and it's just a little silly. Major He-Man rip trying not to be a He-Man rip. Not a fan of this figure either. Just a little simplistic and juvenile to strike any interest to me. Especially having no attachment to the original comic. Still this is a good sign that they are going to go out and start doing stuff a little outside the box. I bought it. I don't hate it. But had it not had the BAF pieces I needed I would have honestly passed.

I picked up and read Crystar back in the day. His story never really grabbed me, but the Hasbro Team alluded to his success being tied to other possible non-marvel owned characters coming to the Legends line in the future. I for one would love to see this lead to a ROM and some Micronaut figs, so I hope he does well.

I know what you mean about the Iceman, mine fell apart too. It was more the seams failing on the waist and torso. But, I feel like that was just a Toy Biz issue.

As far as Crystar, so far so good. I don't think we'd know right now though, as I just got him. But he is really cool. Classic, "figure I'm the least excited for is the one I like posing the most".

BIG QUESTION: what is the translucent plastic quality like??Translucent and clear plastic has long been notorious for fragmenting/shearing flaws, especially over time, so I'm wondering about this figure. I do want it, but I'm wary of the plastic chemistry.My fears stem from the infamous Toy Biz Iceman figure who had parts that would literally crumble into chunks.--I had two of them with the same flaws. Still this guy represents Marvel Age #1, a title i really enjoyed way back and it's nice to see he can hit close to the pose on that cover. Good review.
