Ayo Edebiri Joins Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts Movie

According to Deadline, Ayo Edebiri is the latest to join the ensemble cast for Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts in a new secret role.

Edebiri joins a cast that includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.

Jake Schreier is directing the project from a script by Black Widow writer Eric Pearson. Plot details are being kept quiet, but the Thunderbolts comic revolves around a group of villains sent on missions commissioned by the government.

Thunderbolts is scheduled for a July 26th, 2024 release.

This project will be Edebiri's first significant studio starring role. She plays Sydney Adamu in The Bear on FX, with the second season premiering on FX on Hulu this summer.
