Marvel Studios’ The Marvels Coming To Digital Retailers, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, And DVD

I'll check it out. See if it's as bad as people are saying.

Can't wait to see it again. Movies always hit a little different at home compared to in the theater. In theater, I am much more ready to be into it and there to have a good time and go for a little ride. At home I am more likely to get distracted or pick at the warts in the overall experience. So we'll see how it holds up. There are plenty of movies I like better at home, but some that go the other way too.

I know a ton didn't like this movie, I thought it was a sweetie, I actually want to watch it again, looking forward to when it hits disney plus, I know it's not for everyone, I really enjoyed it, if you hated Love & Thunder... this isn't that

I take my entertainment seriously..........perhaps too much, because i work in the craft. My eyes and brain are poison because I can spot flaws and faults instantly. My brain is always evaluating what I watch, but I'm really only triggered when I see something wrong. And I've been seeing a lot of "wrong" stuff.Good craft sucks me in, like it should for any viewer. What I've seen, post-Endgame, has been............again, for me............weak-sauce.A couple of the TV shows were okay--I liked She-Hulk and Hawkeye, but none of the movies. There's a real demarcation line pre- and post-Endgame in terms of story, which is where I think Marvel Studios is faltering.Professionally speaking, I think their Phase 4 stuff all needed about 6 more months each on story development. Tweaks and fine-tuning.They've got their character shticks down, but they are relying on them to carry the plot........and some of their plots are not making a lot of sense, as rolled out.Now, I get it--these things are connected, but they also have to stand alone.......and therein lies their problem. They all, structurally, need to build to a crescendo, a big finish.....but the flaw within serialized cinema stories is that, tonally, you've only got a limited number of finishes before you start repeating yourself. Repetition is.......redundancy, and THAT is the kiss of death. And a lot of the Marvel films, based on comics ,as they are, fall into that trap because of WHAT they are. You cannot have a big finish like Endgame has all the time, because it loses it's bluster. But when you have Ant-Man throwing an army of a zillion ants at Kang to defeat him............you started sensing the same "big fight" over and over again.....and it loses its power.And they know this....so they try to change things up, and........it's not working, it's falling flat. At least for me.

I could go on forever about this. I agree, I have enjoyed the post Endgame stuff too and feel people are being way too hard on Marvel. Sure, there have been stinkers (Multiverse of Madness, Love and Thunder, Quantumania), but even the worst Marvel project is a triumph considering the interconnectedness to such a massive universe of films (nothing has ever been done at such a scale in cinema). All that being said, I wish Feige and team would go back and review earlier projects to get an idea of where they came from. I watched Ironman 1 over the holidays and it has an energy about it that would be great to see them recapture...you could tell they were hungry and had something to prove. Love to see them hungry again, but I think they are going to blow us away with Deadpool 3 and I think they are going to use that to right the ship in many ways. Hope I'm right.

Felt the same about Indy. Definitely had flaws, but it was still a lot of fun.

I went into this and had a good time. In fact I have had a good time for most post-Endgame MCU stuff. Do they have poor executions? Yes absolutely but I continue to watch them because I enjoy them.

I too didn't find this movie to be the whole dogs and cats living together/ mass hysteria/ end of times dumpster fire that critics are making it out to be, lol. No, it wasn't End Game level, but it was still fun and colourful and pretty imaginative in some parts. Like it's been said here already, I think the film just needed a tighter script and more development with the villain.

In terms of the state of the MCU, I don't believe it's all going over a cliff, and I think too much is being made of what cranky old directors (who are clearly coming more from a place of fear) think. End Game was an extremely tough act to follow, and Covid threw everyone off their game. Recalibration is all that's needed, and the old comics of the 70s and 80s are still the best guide to get insight into how to follow up on a huge multi-character tie-in event (and how to start a new one). At the end of the day, people are still going to gravitate to a really good story with compelling, interesting and fun characters.
