I still can't find Waldo. JayC - 2023-03-06 @ 6:14 pm
Last week, fans got their first glimpse at artist Scott Koblishs extraordinary variant cover for the 700th issue of FANTASTIC FOUR, and now its time to see it in all its glory!Hitting stands in May, the 700th issue of FANTASTIC FOUR will be a giant-sized spectacular from the titles current creative team, writer Ryan North and artist Iban Coello. Koblish will help them celebrate in spectacular style with a one-of-a-kind wraparound connecting cover that will adorn both Mays FANTASTIC FOUR #7 and Junes FANTASTIC FOUR #8. Perfectly encapsulating the rich history of Marvels first family, this massive piece features over 700 characters, each one having appeared in a prior issue of FANTASTIC FOUR. I hope I was able to convey all of the sheer joy, wonder, and boundless creativity that the Fantastic Four have embodied for six decades and I hope it continues to be a shining beacon for decades to come.See the complete connecting cover below and see who you can spot before picking up the first half at your local comic shop this May!FANTASTIC FOUR #7/#700Written by RYAN NORTHArt by IBAN COELLOWraparound Connecting 700 Characters Variant Cover by SCOTT KOBLISH - 75960620289800771On Sale 5/17FANTASTIC FOUR #8Written by RYAN NORTHArt by IVAN FIORELLIWraparound Connecting 700 Characters Variant Cover by SCOTT KOBLISHOn Sale 6/7
I like the little details that artist put into pictures like this. Check out the flame headed girl over Mr. Fantastic's left shoulder (Nikki from GOTG?) and the bald guy shocked to see someone's head on fire. George Perez did this alot in his group pictures a d its a fun little touch.
A lot of characters both famous and obscure, I even spotted Caledonia from Claremont's run Benn - 2023-02-28 @ 5:31 am
The Colossus up in the top left is in his 90s look, whereas the one in the bottom right is in his 70s look. Is it hugely different? Nah, not really, but Im sure thats what they were going for.
Looks like a page out of Where's Waldo.
T'is a task beyond my nerdtastic capabilities, that's for sure. But yes, definitely some absolute musts for me in there figure-wise: Sphinx, every Skrull character, especially Emperor Dorrek, TERMINUS!!! (I'd get him deluxe-sized if they went that route).

Cyclops too, but at least they're two different looks I'm wondering, was the Colossus in the back, near Sasquatch and Guido possibly supposed to be Warpath during his X-Force days? The shoulder pads do look to have some kind of fringe cut into them and he did wear forearm bracers for a time. Maybe the colorist just got confused and no one caught it in time. That is assuming no one has been able to locate Warpath in this picture, which I have not.
Nope. Can't even get close to naming them all, but there's some damn fine action figure material there.
