Pro: the corner boxes are a great memory and these look like awesome homages. Cons: F@#$ Marvel and their variants.
Imagine if the X-Men Anniversary and Avengers Anniversary brought us Marvel Legends boxed sets of the characters in this artwork. That would have been a dream. I believe we will eventually get the classic X-Men, but they sure are taking their time.
Corner boxes were awesome. These covers could be fun.

You could quickly see if your favorite characters or lineups were in that issue. The whole team isn't always on the cover, particularly nowadays. It's good when you haven't read a book for a while. You see the head of a favorite and now start reading Avengers or XMen again. Wish they'd bring it back, along with using the legacy numbers. It is so hard to organize my collection now. You're definitely right with the Legacy Numbering, particularly with X-Men. When the Krakoa era began, the first issue of X-Men (adjectless) had Uncanny X-Men's Legacy Numbering (#645, I believe) which was confusing enough, but then they dropped Legacy Numbering altogether after that issue. Marvel stated back in '17, that going forward, all their books would carry legacy numbers on their cover, both to honor the history of the series, and to avoid confusion about which volume you were reading. They now just seem to be picking and choosing which books get the numbering, and which ones don't. Very disorganized.
Oooooo....the nostalgia of it all!!!
