I think Pedro looks quite a bit like Stan Lee in the painting ( and somewhat in general), which.........maybe that could be intentional, LOL

I was wondering if Pedro Pascal had shaved his beard and mustache, he might look more like a Classic Reed Richards, instead of the more Modern look he has from time to time? It might make it easier for people to see him as Reed since most of us view Classic Clean Shaven Reed instead of modern Beard Reed.

Having said that, the fact that Pedro is

Loving Sue's and Ben's casting choices. Not entirely sold on Pascal as Reed, but I love the man. Quinn was super fun and endearing in Stranger Things, but he doesn't look like Kirby's sibling... my only gripe if I'm being nitpicky. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with! FF was the movie franchise that got me into all of this so, bad as they are I like them.

Yeah, well I'm not really high on any of the castings overall. They all just seem off in some way or another regardless of what pedigree they come from or what they're past roles are but something tells me as long as they make a darn good movie a lot of people can warm up to these guys. I know that's a lot to expect from Disney these days but we know they have it in them. It's just a matter of tasking the right people to make it happen. And TBH I don't really think any version of the FF has properly been cast. Other than Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm of course. But those were some cheesy glutes special effects they used on him back then.

The Vanessa Kirby casting reminds me of the total miss cast Famke Janssen as Jean Grey. I have no idea about her range as an actress though. I'm basing this on very little info. I'm not sure about Ebon either, I'll have to hear his voice as Grimm. I'm assuming he will change my mind for the cgi part. Not sure I'll buy him as a tough guy though. I liked him in Punisher, but didn't really feel like he was really Micro. Actually Newman did a good job in War Zone. As I said before, Pedro just doesn't scream distant genius to me, but I'll trust in his acting ability. And Quinn, I'm pretty happy with. Overall nothing I'm angry about. Hopefully the Silver Surfer news is wrong.

Gotta say I am overall worried about this movie. Not cause of this news, but the track record of people trying to do these characters justice. Finger crossed though, I am hopeful.

Hnnn, interesting. I don't know the actors playing Johnny and Ben, but it's all good, they seem fine to me. I love Pedro, but this does feel a bit strange. He's certainly got the range and talent to play the role, but even so I thought John Krasinski really nailed Reed's calm, sober and almost sullen geeky intensity. However, Vanessa Kirby is the one that has me really scratching my head though. If she were playing Emma Frost.... pitch perfect. Madame Hydra, Lilandra, Silver Sable, Spiral, Enchantress....basically any character that's severe, aloof and dangerous, Vanessa Kirby has that down to a science. But as sweet and endearing Sue Richards? Yeah, it's not immediately gelling in my mind. More still, I'm curious to see what kind of chemistry she has with Pedro, because even when I've seen her in a 'nice' role, she's come across as cold. We'll see man, but yeah, very interesting to see how this pans out. Actually, as an FF fan, I just hope it pans out period!

He'll be good because it's Pedro Pascal but really wish they'd gone with John Krasinski. Kind of a strange announcement out of nowhere though.

Johnny in the comic is the same age as Spider-man. Thus why their friendship has lasted so long. So yes a he is a bit too old for the role.

Ok, that's fair but the actor is still almost 2 full decades younger than the actors playing Reed and Ben.... like he could almost be Reed's kid rather than his brother-in-law, LOL! He's also only 2 years older than Tom Holland in real life --- so they're basically the same age, right? I understand where you're coming from, though.

Joseph Quinn does seem to be a bit old for Johnny but I'm sure they will make it work, I only am familiar with him from Stranger Things,

So in real life that puts him 6 years younger than Vanessa who is playing Sue, and significantly younger that Pedro and Ebon who are both in their late 40's (just like me). Not picking on you, because I certainly didn't know either - but he just did somewhat recently play a high school kid (although held back) in Stranger Things, after all! Maybe it was the long 80's hair that made him seem so much older.
