I really don't get why this show (and what if) is in letterbox format, it's not shown in cinemas, if anything it wold make more sense in 4:3 aspect ration like the original show but not cinematic letterbox, it's viewed on modern TVs so I really don't get why they don't give us full screen aspect ratio like the most shows and cartoons today, it's not Brian De Palma or Martin Scorsesemovie to warrant that aspect ratio, if anything with IMAX rising in popularity things are moving towards seeing more of a picture not less, it's probably more of Disney issue than the Show itself.

Mostly Instragram, and it was mostly about it being "woke" which is not anything we are getting into here, but you know how folks go.

but I watched the first 2 episodes last night, I dunno why anybody would complain, I loved this show, animation was excellent, it felt true to the original series, had a good story I felt compelled to get into, the 2nd episode was moving, that whole finale scene dialog was touching, I like this show, very happy with it, it gave me feels, I can't wait to see where it goes.

I am pleasantly happy. This show was good. It was much like the comics used to be. Animation was super amazing. Much better than the old show. Loved how the intro stayed true to the original but with new animation and I really appreciate the new sequence they gave Morph. If this was the work of Beau DeMayo I am really disappointed with his departure. I know rumors are abound as to what the actual reasons were but if it were to come out that Disney did not like the proper respect he payed to the franchise and characters it would totally make sense. Given Disney's history. But as usual the skeptic in me must be realistic. I think these first two episodes were the ones actually written by DeMayo so it is quite possible it might go off the rails after this. Just being honest. Again based on Disney's history of destroying everything we loved about the comics. I look forward to future episodes and I'm crossing my fingers so hard the blood is rushing from them that they do not do yet another complete 180 that Disney is so great at doing.

I watched the first 2 and am impressed. Much like the formula from the original, where you hit semi-accurate comic plots with accurate-enough character portrayals, is working. Nitpick all you want, but the tone feels right, the dialog isnt Shakespeare, but it is a nicely updated riff on the original.

Anyone throwing hate toward it, or any beloved staple of childhood, is not taking into account the foggy vision/memories that nostalgia invokes. Its like Star Wars; if you grew up with it, whatever era of films, they are yours. You understood them with the perspective of youth, and your deep-seated memories only grow in importance over time, almost to a fetishized level. This is why old folks like me didnt enjoy the prequel or sequel trilogy, generally.

Since I came to the X-Men series via comics, first, I didnt like the original tv show at launch, because it wasnt MY X-Men, or MY team, or the way they treated Nightcrawler was off, etc. Its only later in life, as an adult, that I can enjoy things for what they are; entertainment. Its the equivalent of watching someone else play with their X-Men toys, or Star Wars action figures. They may not make the decisions I would like to make, or develop a beloved character the way I would, but let them have their shot.

I am just ecstatic that we live at a time where the nerds won, and media companies are willing to invest in a continuation of this cartoon, or Marvel shows, or Star Wars. Yes, ultimately it is to make money, and that comes with obligations and strings attached, but it is also the precise way we actually get new content and time to see new stories in the worlds we adore.

I honestly never loved the original cartoon. It just never quite got it right, and bad dialog. I'm gonna just watch this as filler. But I'm certainly not mad about that one thing people are mad about. I'll judge it on my own without worrying about what the haternet has to say.

I loved the OG as a kid, rewatched it a couple of years ago... and it made me cringe more than not. This feels similar, but somehow better. Like the animation is similar, but more fluid. The design is similar, but Jubilee looks teen and Asian. The dialogue is corny at times... but somehow earned? I dunno, I'm really enjoying the soap opera ish drama that the 90s had and this one seems to be adapting incredibly well.

Plus, the fighting sequences are top notch. If the MCU does these guys half as good as this show, the action is gonna be fun.

This whole Rogue/Magneto situation makes me uncomfortable, poor Gambit... Never liked that in comics as well, it's weird that in show that is more for modern sensibilities they brought in this pretty problematic plot line that comes out of nowhere, Rogue has to be in her early 20s at least and Magneto in his mid to late 50s...

Glad people here are giving this praise for the most part. I think so many people have such high expectations for things that of course they are going to be let down by something, also this isn't 1997 anymore sheesh..

Early reviews are saying this show is none too great. Which is no more than I expect from Disney at this point. And make no mistake it is Disney calling the shots. Maybe the firing of the show runner means they are headed back in the right direction. LOL. I know I could barely hold my laughter while I was typing this. More Disney trash. But much like the comics the art looks amazing. I'll probably just watch it with the volume off. I'm pretty sure I can predict Disney's dialog on the fly.

Jesse, what the hell are you talking about?

Anyway, loved the premier. That Storm scene (you know the one) was STELLAR.
